We are lucky to be getting another Swedish crime writer. Henning Mankell was first and we have had several new Swedish authors since. He has been my favourite and I have considered him the best until now. Hakan Nesser is really good. Inspector Van Veeteren is his protagonist. The story unfolds as an ex-con is brutally murdered and a few days later a wealthy real estate dealer is also murdered. Are the crimes related? Van Veeteren and his team are trying to find out. One of his female team members goes missing. Is she the next victim? The story has very colourful characters and takes many twists and turns. Anyone who enjoys the European flavour in writing will like this book. I look forward to reading more by this author.
